LMT REMOTE ACCESS - CUSTOMER SETUP LMT Remote Access allows our support staff to remotely view and control your PC from our office. In order for this to happen, though, it is necessary that you download a small program and configure it for our system. Doing this is not difficult. The images below, combined with instructions we will provide over the phone, should allow you to complete this process in about five minutes. First, start by downloading the LMT Remote VNC program and saving it to your Desktop. Click the link below to begin the download: LMT Remote Program (lmtremote.exe, 645KB) When prompted, select "Save As" and safe this file (lmtremote.exe) to your desktop.
Once the download is complete, select "Run".
If you get a Security Warning window, simply select "Run" again.
If you get a Windows Security Alert window, select "Unblock".
At this point, the program should start automatically. Make sure your screen looks like this one. Everything should be the same by default, but you might want to double-check. Enter a password of your choice into the two Password boxes. When you are done, click "OK".
After you click "OK" from the window above, you must now locate the VNC icon in your system tray. The system tray is the collection of icons on the bottom right of your screen. The VNC icon is a white square with a black "V" and small red squigly lines.
Right-click on this icon and select "Add New Client"
In the Host Name: box, enter the address that the LMT technician gives you. For example it could be helpdesk.lmtcs.com, but could vary depending on where the technician is at the time. Once you have entered this name, click "OK" to initiate the connection. The technician will let you know if this procedure was successful or not.
NOTE: Remote acces to your PC is temporary and one-time only. Unless you go through this procedure again, and initiate a new connection to us, we do not have access to any part of your PC. We respect your privacy and security. VNC VIEWER FOR LMT ENGINEERS - execute with "-listen" to listen for connection. Both customer and engineer must be running the same program version. The version of this file is matched to the customer remote progam above.
